City Boxers (Inside Pocket Information)

For what is the inside pocket used? Many things. Condom pockets are commonly built into boxer shorts, but they are typically kinda cheesy in design. This pocket is neither cheesy nor is it just a condom pocket. It could be described as a secure place to hide things in the case of emergency--whether the emergency is as 'low threat' as a sexual encounter, or as 'high threat' as a mugging. If you are going out into the world into a somewhat risky arena, i.e., bar hopping, international travel, hiking in the wilderness, it might be a good idea to hide a credit card, extra cash, house and car keys, condom ;>), in such a pocket. The pocket we have designed here can be used in such cases.

Our inside pocket comes in two parts. As shown below, you can order either (1) the 'Safety Pouch' together with an attachment rail, or you can order (2) the 'Pouch Rail Only', which is the means by which the 'Safety Pouch' is attached to the boxer short.

The image above shows the safety pouch swung over the edge of the boxers so that you can gain access to the pouch. The pouch is removeable and snaps on a rail mounted under the waistband on the inside. Safety Pouch. When ordering your boxers, if you choose this option, we will attach a pouch rail to the boxers that has three snaps on it. This is the means by which the safety pouch is attached to the boxer shorts. This pouch rail will be sewn under the waistband to the right of the fly and will hang down about 3/4 inch below the waistband. When you want to carry your pouch on an outing, all you need do is snap the pouch to the pouch rail and you are off.

We will also sew you a safety pouch that will match the boxers you are ordering. This pouch has a flap with two snaps on it to secure the contents of the pouch. The pouch is sized to allow for items up to the size of a credit card. This pouch is very nicely designed and kind of expensive due to the excellence of construction. This is one reason why we added a rail and pouch assemblage. Considering the cost, it might not be cost effective to put a pouch in every pair of boxers you own. However, you can buy a pouch, or two, and then rail all of your shorts. Then you can snap in a pouch when you need it for a particular outing.

The image above (the second purple pair of boxers) shows the safety pouch flipped over the waistband of the boxers so that you can get into the pouch. It is also unsnapped so you can see the inside of the pocket. The pocket is lined in sateen of a complimentary color, but unusualy not the same as the outside of the pouch. The reason you can order just the rail is because the safety pouch is a bit pricey. By creating the rail, you can order a few pockets and rail all of your shorts. Then, you can move the pocket in and out of your boxers as needed.
