| Machine wash warm, delicate cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low. Use cool iron. | A beautiful double-nap flannel that you will find nowhere else. These are a must for those living in a colder climate. What is a double nap? Double nap means that the fabric starts out on the thicker side and is then brushed on both surfaces to create the flannel texture on the inside and outside surfaces of the fabric. Flannels, other than double nap, are just brushed on the side that will appear on the outside of the garment. Wouldn't it be nice to have that soft surface on the inside too? Hence, the double nap! They are, however, thicker than most flannels. Why? The process of brushing the base fabric to make flannel degrades the fabric a bit. Flannels of a lesser grade won't typically wear as long as standard, unbrushed fabric. Since a double nap is brushed on both surfaces, the base fabric must be thicker otherwise the finished flannel fabric will be too fragile. |
